Brandon Baxter

Harmonica

Growing up as a kid in the Bear River Valley, Brandon Baxter always wanted to be a cowboy. But somehow, he ended up becoming a lawyer, instead. Fortunately, Brandon’s brother is a rancher and lets him come help with the branding and other ranch work so he feels like he hasn’t completely abandoned his childhood dreams. Brandon first started blowing on an old harmonica he found when he was walking through the Uintas trying to find a horse that had run off during an elk hunt. That old harmonica just seemed to want to sing the hymns and church songs that Brandon’s mom had made him practice on the piano for years when he was growing up. Brandon thinks that a harmonica sounds best when played outdoors or around a campfire. Brandon and his wife Jodi live in Paradise with a couple of old family horses, their dog, a cat, and whichever of their kids or grandchildren have dropped by for a visit.
