JoLynne Kirkwood
JoLynne Kirkwood is a vivacious descendant of original settlers to the northern Arizona and southern Utah desert area, including Sevier county, where she now resides on her farm, with her husband, Mike. She is a proud grandma who enjoys hiking, fishing, camping, and traveling in general.
Her works have received numerous awards and have been published in multiple Western magazines and anthologies. Jo has been a "Lariat Laureate" on CowboyPoetry.com and has been named "Female Poet of the Year" by the academy of Western Artists.
She is enthusiastic about her involvement at NSHS (North Sevier High School) where she retired from teaching English, Language Arts, Sterling Scholar (College Prep), and visual Arts classes. She was also advisor to several school organizations, working with a large part of the NSHS student body, and a coach for the debate team.
Jo is a performing Cowgirl poet. Her stories and poems reflect, with a wry sense of humor, memories of growing up and the everyday life of women involved in ranching and agriculture.
